PRIVACY POLICY
The
purpose of this policy is to insure that Ed-Med Federal Credit Union complies with existing state and federal laws
with respect to the privacy and security of member’s nonpublic personal
information.
GENERAL
PROVISIONS
Ed-Med
Federal Credit Union shall protect the confidentiality,
security and integrity of each member’s nonpublic personal information in
accordance with existing state and federal laws.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Ed-Med
Federal Credit Union
officers, directors, committee members and employees are required to hold in
confidence all credit union transactions with members and all information in
regards to members’ personal business. It
is the responsibility of all mentioned to protect the confidentiality of all
members. It is also the
responsibility of all mentioned to identify any potential area of exposure and
to take the necessary steps to report such discovery and to assist in correcting
the condition that could permit any such security breach.
It is further a responsibility of all mentioned to report any actual or
threatened release of any confidential information and to take necessary steps
to prevent or halt such release.
SHARING OF INFORMATION
It
is the policy set forth herein to prohibit disclosure of any member information
to third parties except to the following:
1.
When such
disclosure is necessary to complete transactions
2.
To verify
the existence and condition of your account for a third party (such as credit
bureau reporting) as is permitted by law.
3.
To comply
with any court order or applicable laws or regulations
4.
When
given written permission by the member. Federal
law protects the information Ed-Med Federal Credit Union provides to credit reporting agencies and
its use is strictly governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Ed-Med
Federal Credit Union does not and will not sell or provide personal information to third parties for
independent use.
